1610 John Keene, the elder of Portishead died 16 April 1610. William son aged 12 years and two months and twenty days. Two messuages or tenements, 2 curtilages, 2 gardens, 2 orchards, 2 crofts with 50 acres of land, arable, meadow and pasture with apps. In South Brent.


1693 Mrs Catherine Chapple, in the year 1693 gave three or four little bits of land (in all about 5 acres) in different parts of the parish, to be let by the Minister, Church-wardens, and Overseers of the Poor to the best advantage, and the rents to be distributed yearly on Shrove Tuesday, as the said Minister, Churchwardens, and Overseers of the Poor shall direct and appoint, to and among such and so many poor housekeepers, inhabiting within the Parish of Portishead, as have no relief of the Parish, and do frequent the Church at the time of Prayer.
