1883 May 9 Portishead.
Parochial Sanitary authority. The first meeting of the new committee was held on Monday evening. There were present Messrs. F Weatherly, J Stanmore, J Davis, E Jarman,
W A Bessell, John Newton, W Cox. J Mitchell, W May, W Tuck and A T Bennett.
In the absence of the late chairman (the Rev J Stuart) Mr F Weatherly was voted to the chair. Mr J B Walter was appointed chairman of the committee for the year and Mr A T Bennett, secretary.
1789 Apr 21. To Let.
To be let to the best Bidder, on Monday the 4th of May next, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, for a term of seven years from the 25th of March last, if the Estate and interest therein of a Lady aged 50 years shall so long continue.
Lot 1. Several closes and parcels of Meadow and Pasture land, containing upwards of 30 acres, situate in Clevedon, now tenated by Mr William Young, at the yearly rent of £42.
Lot 2. A Messuage or Tenement, Garden, Orchard and several closes and parcels of Meadow and Pasture land; containing 12 acres and upwards, situate in Portbury aforesaid, and now in the occupation of Mrs Mary Moor at the yearly rent of £12.
Lot 3. A Messuage or Tenement, with two Orchards, two gardens, two acres of Coppice wood, and a Moiety of five acres of Land situate in Portishead, and now occupied by John Smith, Christoper Harris and Abraham Rizden, and others.
Immediade possession will be given by the Sheriff of Somersetshire.
